PSED – Public Sector Equality Duty

PSED – Public Sector Equality Duty

All public sector bodies are subject to the Public Sector Equality Duty, which came into force in April 2011. The duty requires schools to take steps not just to eliminate unlawful discrimination and harassment, but also to actively promote equality.

Equality Objectives 2024 – 2028

Objective 1
To promote cultural understanding and awareness of different religious beliefs between different ethnic groups within
our school community.
Objective 2
To enable all children to develop an appropriate understanding of our school’s curriculum so as to be able to keep
themselves and others safe.
Objective 3
To close gaps in attainment and achievement between all children and children who are disadvantaged – i.e. they are
looked after and/or they are eligible for Pupil Premium.
Objective 4
To monitor and promote the involvement of all groups of children in the extra-curricular life of the school, including
leadership opportunities, with particular attention given to children who are eligible for Pupil Premium and children
with special educational needs.

Plumcroft Primary School is fully committed to ensuring we are compliant with the Public Sector Equality Duty.

We follow the DFE advice as outlined in the Equality Act 2010: advice for schools
